Mr. Harding Proposes

My hero, Richard Harding, is a man who seems doomed to romantic frustration. He finally works up the courage to propose to his childhood friend, and she thinks he's joking. He has to do it five more times before she finally takes him seriously, and then she still says no. Luckily, his satirical good humor holds his spirits up - at least until that final refusal.

My heroine, Georgiana Rowland, is a girl with a life full of stress. She's helping to launch her sister into the ton. She's in her third Season with no husband, despite her many charms, which brings her under her mother's constant disapproval. But that disapproval is nothing compared to the fuss when her mother discovers that Georgie is befriending the interesting, amusing, but scandalous Lady Shipton.

The story is about how Georgie triumphs over her troubles and finally accepts Richard's proposal - in her own way!
